Australian bowler John Hastings will be the new skipper of team Melbourne Stars in the forthcoming season of Big Bash League. The 31-year-old cricketer is going to captain Melbourne Stars for the first time in the history of BBL.
David Hussey, who recently declared his retirement from the international cricket, was the previous captain of BBL men’s cricket team Melbourne Stars.
Hastings is the leading wicket-taker of Stars. He has picked up 48 wickets in 20 matches. Expressing views over his appointment as a new skipper of Stars, Hastings said, “I’m very honoured to be the captain of the Melbourne Stars.”
Melbourne Stars will be playing its first match of BBL 2017-18 against Brisbane Heat on December 20. The match will be played at The Gabba stadium, which is situated in Brisbane. The game will commence at 6:40 PM according to the local time
