Afghanistan’s cricketer Rashid Khan to play in Big Bash League 2017-18

Afghanistan’s famous cricketer Rashid Khan is all set to play in the forthcoming season of Big Bash League. He will be playing for the popular BBL team Adelaide Strikers in the seventh season of BBL. The 18-year-old bowler, who starred in the recent season of Caribbean Premier League as well as Indian Premier League, will be the first Afghan cricketer to play in Big Bash League. He plays for Sunrisers Hyderabad in IPL.

Rashid confirmed that he will be coming to Australia to participate in BBL this summer. While talking to Fox Sports, the youngster revealed that he is glad to be the 1st Afghan cricketer to play in BBL. Speaking about his debut in Big Bash League, Rashid told in a club statement that he is very happy to have signed with the Strikers for the Big Bash League 2017-18.

Khan is the key bowler in Afghanistan’s national cricket team. He has played for the national team in several matches till now. Talking about his bowling talent and skills, Adelaide Strikers’ coach Jason Gillespie said, “He has some great variations, can bowl stump-to-stump and can be very hard to pick.” Khan is the only bowler to take hat-trick wickets in Caribbean Premier League (CPL). He plays for Guyana Amazon Warriors in the CPL.

Sydney Thunder will confront with the former runner-ups Sydney Sixers in the first game of this much awaited domestic cricket league. The opening game is about to be played at Sydney Showground stadium, which is located in Sydney.
